Open For Service wins a 2015 SCORE Award!

Happy Wednesday!!

I am humbled and honored to be the recipient of a 2015 SCORE Award for Outstanding Diverse Small Business!

SCORE (http://www.score.org) is a great organization that has been a key component to the success of many of the ventures I have been a part of.  They believe in diversity and its a fantastic option for our more "senior" peers to give their intellect to new entrepreneurs.  The proceeds from Open For Service will provide greater support and resources that will foster more entities that do not believe in discrimination.

I chose SCORE to be the beneficiary of the sticker sales because I think it is SO IMPORTANT to explore the possibility to start your own company.  Even if it doesn't work out, I recommend taking the time to vet your idea/dream and see if it is sustainable.

The Gala is September 17th in Washington D.C.  In the meantime, I need to learn how to be "fancy" and also pick out a tux that makes me look classy.  Any feedback on either of these is, of course, appreciated.

Included with the award, SCORE and MiniMatters (http://www.minimatters.com/) will be creating a marketing video and PR campaign about Open For Service.  This will be a great help towards our efforts to becoming sustainable and expand the mission.

I am truly honored to be the recipient of the award, and hope to represent Open For Service and its advocates the best way I can!!  I'm sure you'll see millions of social media posts from me as we travel there!

Thank you again for your continued support of Open For Service, and if you have a dream to start your own business, please find your local SCORE Chapter!

Have a great week! Keep supporting Open For Service businesses!
